Verizon R.I.D.E. (Remote Immersive Demo Experience) is a 2x Telly Award-winning experiential presentation for Verizon New Business Incubation (NBI) focusing on 5G, robotics, mobile edge computing, and other frontier investments. Featuring high-end 180-degree immersive video footage, delivered in multiple form factors ranging from a VR recreation of the entire presentation at the smallest to a huge trade showfloor building at the largest, with a 180-degree video wall, an encompassing video floor, and a massive touchscreen for operation.
I was part of a 2 person dev team responsible for implementing the core Unity runtime that powered the touchscreen and video wall elements of the presentation, including interfacing with media servers and video scaling devices and facilitating communication between two different machines for synchronization of content. I also oversaw the development of the VR version in parallel, which was handled by other Unity engineers at Left Field Labs.
